A Consistent Exercise Program Helps You Reach Your Fitness Goals
Written by Jeffrey T. Spaeth, LMT, CPT
Looking for ways to achieve your fitness goals? The key: Consistency.
The best results are obtained by exercising at least three times a week. A good weekly range is three to four times every week.
Warming up prior to working out will help make exercising more effective and reduce the potential for injuries. Warm up at least five minutes. Work outs should last at least 20 minutes in the beginning.
The benefits of regular exercises include stress reduction and improvements in your mental wellbeing. Exercising helps release the hormone endorphin, which makes you feel better.
Beginners should take precautions and refrain from pushing themselves by going to the gym five days a week or working out too hard. Early fitness gains can mislead beginners into believing they should increase their exercise workloads too early, which may lead to injury or require taking time off to recovery.
Taking an exercise break – a slump – can discourage beginners; the secret to a productive exercise program is planned consistency.
Remember the trainers at Golden Ocala Golf & Equestrian Club can guide you with your program to help avoid bad workout habits, such as incorrect form and excessive (or too little) exertion. Signing up for a series of workouts will help you develop a disciplined pattern of fitness habits.
