How the LPGA Will Impact Golden Ocala’s Real Estate

BY JANET FETTERMAN, BROKER ASSOCIATE, CAM

With the upcoming LPGA Coates Tournament presented by R+L Carriers being held at Golden Ocala, I was interested in seeing if there were any real estate statistics regarding the impact of a major tournament at a community, so I began my internet search. Here is what I found on how the LPGA could impact Golden Ocala’s real estate market.

LPGA’s Impact on Golden Ocala’s Real Estate Market

I discovered an article published by Mary Legare Whaley regarding the Ryder Cup’s impact on Kiawah Island Real Estate after Ocean Course, who hosted the 1991 Ryder Cup.

“It’s not every day that a community receives this level of worldwide attention and exposure. After the Ocean Course hosted the 1991 Ryder Cup, Kiawha experienced an overwhelming number of inquiries, which lead to a flurry of real estate activity. By 1995, the average number of annual closed transactions rose 89% above the 3-year average preceding the Ryder Cup. The average price of a home site rose 73% and the average single family home price was up 85%.”

Just in case you haven’t heard, the Coates LPGA Tournament will come to Ocala 1/26/15  and will bring an anticipated 50,000 to 70,000 people through the gates of Golden Ocala to watch the tournament first hand. NBC and the Golf Channel will cover the tournament daily not only in the USA but in 8 countries world-wide (including the golf loving country of Japan!)

In effect, this beautiful southern belle’s debut on the world stage is in only days away! This best kept secret luxury lifestyle community is about to strut her stuff and show off her beauty and grandeur to millions of television viewers and thousands of through-the-gates visitors.
