Golden Ocala Member Chester Weber Wins at the Royal Windsor Horse Show
Golden Ocala member Chester Weber recently added to his winning streak with a first place finish at the Land Rover International Driving Grand Prix of the Royal Windsor Horse Show held May 16-18, 2015 in London England. It’s the second time he’s won in the four-in-hand division.
Weber is an 11-time United States Equestrian Federation National Champion and 3-time World Equestrian Games Silver Medalist. In March 2015, he won the Live Oak International Combined Driving Event here in Ocala.
The Royal Windsor Horse Show is staged on the private grounds of Windsor Castle, home to Queen Elizabeth and the Royal Family. Weber, who was congratulated by the Queen, is the first American to win the four-in-hand division in nearly 30 years.
In an article from the Royal Horse Show, Weber said:
“I’m elated. It’s such a privilege to drive at Royal Windsor and my horses have been outstanding. The course designer here [Christian Iseli from Austria] is the hardest in the world but I have a good record with his courses. I knew if I could go clear the pressure would be on.”
Weber has just finished competing in the World Equestrian Festival in Aachen, Germany and is now preparing for the World Cup Qualifier in Lahden, Germany on June 19-21. He has several other tournaments in Europe in July, August and September. He heads back to the U.S. to compete in the Kentucky Classic Combined Driving Event in Lexington, Kentucky Oct. 1-4.
