Besides the wonderful time you’ll have enjoying Live Music Wednesday, we have to let you in on another reason why you should mark your calendar and attend. It’s good for you. Yep. You heard us right. According to the U.S. National Library of Medicine’s National Institutes of Health, listening to live music improves your health.

The agency’s conclusion is based on a 2006 study of the effects of live music on patients at a teaching hospital in Ireland. Here it is, directly from the experts: “Live music … was found to enhance the quality of the aesthetic environment … with both patients and staff stating that listening to live music helped them to relax, feel happier and more positive.”

“Music was found to have (a) strong emotional effect …. Listening to live music … has positive benefits.”
