Junior Tennis Academy Summer Camp: Covers the Basics to Advance Play

Summer at Golden Ocala means time for the 2015 Junior Tennis Academy Summer Camp. The 10-week program begins the week of June 8th and runs through the week of August 17th.

TennisCamp

The camp is broken down into three age categories:

Pee Wee Tennis for ages 3-6

  • Focusing on hand-eye coordination, basic tennis skills and sports fundamentals.

10 & Under Progressions for ages 6-10

  • Learning technique, beginning to rally and build points.

Advanced Junior Training for ages 11-18

  • Learning strategy, court positioning, shot selection, movement, technique, point construction, mental toughness, and individual player identities.

GO-JrTennisAcademy

The Pee Wee sessions meet on Mondays and Thursday from 9-10:30 a.m. while the other age groups will meet from 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Thursday of each week. See the full schedule of sessions along with pricing here. A 10-percent discount is available for multiple family members participating in the camp.

Students in the 10 & Under Progressions and the Advanced Junior Training groups will have daily fitness workouts along with match play. The students in each group will also receive lunch and have pool time each day of their session.

The Junior Tennis Academy Summer Camp is open to Golden Ocala Golf & Equestrian Club members and also non-members. Registration is currently underway.

Thiroshan Chetty, Director of Tennis at Golden Ocala. He is certified by the U.S. Professional Tennis Association (USPTA P1), U.S. Professional Tennis Registry (USPTR), High Performance Institute (HPI).

Roy Miller, tennis professional certified by U.S. Professional Tennis Association (USPTA), Professional Tennis Registry (USPTR), and Quickstart.

Corey Forrest, tennis professional certified by U.S. Professional Tennis Association (USPTA).
