Little Hands Needing a Corrective Cut

Child Cutting Their Own Hair

Kids like to play hairdresser

Written by Melodie Garcia, Hairdresser at Golden Ocala.

Throughout my years as a professional in the beauty industry, I have come to learn very well that children love to play hairdresser. Unfortunately, parents of these young clients can get very upset with even the thought of their little ones altering their own hair. This can be especially alarming and stressful because these little clients tend to cut their own hair before a big event or celebration.

Although it’s rare that an appropriate hairdo comes about as little hands rarely make good hairdressers, I can assure you that this is all part of growing up. Do not panic, I am here to help you with your child’s corrective cut!

The Solution

The good news is that hair grows back. When a parent brings me their little one, this is the first thing I tell them.

After a close assessment of their son or daughter’s hair, I will then suggest best-case scenario to correct the “unique” style their little one has created. With the parents input, of course, we will create a plan of how much hair to cut off to modify the style. Next, I begin my magic. In no time, the child will look and feel great with there new do!
