Helping out our Community During the Holidays

Written by Thiroshan Chetty, our Director of Tennis.

I would like to personally say a big THANK YOU to our members, the local community, and my staff for all of their help in making the Hands that Help project a success once again this year! On December 14th, we held our annual “Hands that Help” Doubles Tournament, where participants brought grocery items for families in need in our community.

About Our Project

Every year, we feed approximately 20 families who are without the basic necessities such as food, clothing, beds, etc. At this time, we focus on their children as well, ensuring that they have gifts for the holiday season. We personally deliver the donated items to these families’ homes prior to Christmas.

Our food hamper allows the families to have food for approximately one month. Our goal is to carry out this service to these families twice a year. As the colder days start to approach, we will also supply blankets, jackets, socks, food, and other necessities to many of the homeless citizens of Ocala.

We Couldn’t Do it Without You!

Again, a huge thanks goes out to all the people who made this project a success and especially to our members who have come through every year. We hope everyone had a wonderful holiday season! See you on the tennis courts!!!
