Golden Ocala Student wins Little Mo Tournament

WRITTEN BY THIROSHAN CHETTY, OUR DIRECTOR OF TENNIS.

Ty Leaird isn’t your average ten year old kid. At an early age he has found his passion for the sport of tennis and he is good at it. Ty has dedicated his time and energy into training hard here at Golden Ocala. Ty and I spend his lessons developing the fundamentals and knowledge of his game, as well as adding the necessary modern skills to his already fast developing skill set. In my opinion, Ty is Ocala’s up and coming tennis star.

Ty’s dedication and determination is paying off.

The Little Mo Tournament

Ty recently competed in the Little Mo Tournament in Tampa the weekend of December 5, 2014. There were approximately 350 kids, from 41 different countries, who competed in this weekend tournament. To win the Little Mo Tournament is a huge feat, with superstars like Andy Roddick also winning it at this age. Ty ended up winning the Boys 10’s Doubles with Charlie Cowan (pictured below). Ty also walked away winning the 10’s Mixed Doubles as well as the 10’s singles consolation. There is continued success for Ty down the road as his hard work and dedication is really starting to pay off.
