Written By Thiroshan Chetty, Director of Tennis

The Golden Aces here at Golden Ocala has a lot to be proud of this year! In only the second year after the Legacy League’s creation they managed to tie for first place with a 12-4 match record. The 7-team league is made up of ladies age 55 and older from Marion and Alachua counties. Each team played 3 courts of doubles ranging from 3.5 to 2.5 rated players.

The Golden Aces were led by team captain Phyllis Gray who kept everyone organized and motivated throughout the season. Golden Ocala members include; Karen Anderson, Betsy Calder, Ilona Chattey, Leasa Forrest, Deb Furnas, Terry Gilbert, Muriel Harney, Linda Harrison, Nancy Little, Libby Madden, Judy McLauchlin, Kathleen Miller, Cindy Nassal, Fay Owings, Jennifer Sancoff, and Connie Witter all contributed to the team’s great season.

We are excited for this league at Golden Ocala Golf & Equestrian Club because it gives our tennis program an additional feature and more options for members. The group is energized and extremely excited for this opportunity.
