Trendy Nail and Makeup Technology by Angie

Angie Medeiros is Golden Ocala Golf & Equestrian Club’s newest nail tech and makeup artist — here to apply her profession as inspiration for desired looks and using the very best products. Angie’s frustration with her own nails prompted an academic career at Marion Technical College — where she was recognized as the first student to master nail technology before the class was complete. This transitioned into a love of makeup, as Angie acquired different products that wouldn’t set into fine lines and wrinkles.

She specializes in acrylic nails, Brisa™ gel, spa manicures and pedicures, and the nail dip powder system, as well as contouring, concealing and brow mapping. With all of that going on, Angie is making her passion yours with the latest trends, techniques and must-haves.

Trends in Full Swing

Over two-plus decades, Angie has found that nail and makeup trends have taken a 360-degree turn. For example, 70s and 80s makeup are coming back around, but with a new twist. There are bold looks, but not as bold as the ones we saw in the days of Madonna. It may be the smoky-eye look — a makeup application that entirely depends on the way the makeup is applied — or it may be a no-makeup-look — a natural way to wear makeup and feel flawless. Then, there’s full coverage with contouring, bronzing and highlighting — all things that makeup maniacs love!

When it comes to nails, Angie relies on anything from the simplest gel nails to ombre and jeweled designs. Since she is ambidextrous, she can practice the latest techniques on her own nails, building up to perfection for yours.

Continuous Education

Angie refers to YouTube and Instagram videos, marketing materials like magazines, and trial & error procedures as a way of continuing her nail and makeup education.

For makeup tips and tricks, she looks to Mario Dedivanovic who went from working the counter at Sephora to becoming Kim Kardashian’s personal artist. He’s famous for drawing out the best version of a woman’s natural complexion and features.

Angie also follows a few nail techs from the U.K., such as her role model, Kirsty Meakin. She’s a nail artist turned social media sensation via a nail product line, as well as courses for beginners and master techs.
