New Director of Golf

The Search Is Over

The search is over! To most of you, this might sound like the title of an ever-popular 1980s rock song. But to Golden Ocala Golf & Equestrian Club, it is the phrase that will launch a new era for our community. From Pennsylvania country clubs to Central Florida’s high end hotels, Ryan Gray has joined the Golden Ocala team as our new Director of Golf! He will coordinate and conduct member and charity tournaments, merchandising and everyday golf operations. As Ryan spends his first few weeks shaking hands and getting acquainted with his new home, Golden Ocala presents you with a sneak peek at the man with a putting posture straight out of Golf Digest.

But Wait, There’s More

Ryan established his career 12 years ago as a golf professional at Country Clubs in his home state of Pennsylvania as the Director of Golf at Honeybrook Golf Club. Then, in 2014, an opportunity presented itself in Florida. He relocated and joined The JW Marriott and Ritz-Carlton Hotel Golf Club at Grande Lakes resort in Orlando as a Tournament Supervisor, largely contributing to the origination of the annual PNC Father/Son Challenge.

Big Break

Ryan’s career continued to excel, as he went on to become a PGA First Assistant Golf Professional at The Country Club of Orlando. But the name he made for himself from Pennsylvania to the sunshine state did not stop there, as he was recently named 2017 Assistant Golf Professional of the Year by the North Florida PGA East Central chapter. Ryan even went on to achieve four tournament victories throughout the Philadelphia and North Florida PGA sections.

On To Horse Country

Ryan decided to make another move joining our state-of-the-art, championship-level golf course. Regardless of the growing population at Golden Ocala, our staff is certain that Ryan will find a space all his own. We invite you to give him a warm welcome and wish him the best of luck. To learn more about what Ryan is up to, along with his wife, Kaitlin, and infant daughter, Palmer, be sure to call (352) 369-6969 and tour the remaining pages of our newly revamped website.
