Tournament Highlights

LPGA players also couldn’t believe the fan support during this tournament.

“I was in shock actually when I walked on that tee and saw how many people there were. It’s amazing. It shows that this is the kind of town that we should be playing in. We’re the biggest thing that’s coming right now and this is where we should be playing.” ~ Stacy Lewis

“It’s been really good crowds. Even yesterday we were playing in the afternoon, there were a lot of people out here. Just I guess following from tee to green not only our group but the groups behind and in front also. I think it’s been great and the fans here are really excited. It’s always exciting for me to play in front of them.” ~Lydia Ko

On day three it was said that Lydia Ko could possibly become the youngest in men’s or women’s golf history to rank number one in the world if she won the final round of the Coates Golf Championship presented by R&L Carriers at the age of 17.

“I really haven’t thought about it, like I always say, the rankings come after the results in each tournament, so it would be great and it would be a huge honor to be in that position, but we’ve still got another long 18 holes to go and you just never know what’s going to happen in those holes.” ~ Lydia Ko
