Remaining Dedicated To An Exercise Program Reaps Wonderful Results

By Jeffrey T. Spaeth LMT CPT

Sticking to a workout schedule can be challenging especially with children to drop off and pick up and after-school activities. Remember when your parents told you this is just “tough love”? In this case, I am referring to accountability toward your health and exercise. No more sleeping in late or going out after work with friends until the wee hours of the morning. No more going to all-you-can-eat restaurants or having that third glass of wine!

Get yourself into the gym and stick to a regular program – that and a balanced diet – will be the only way you’re going to see results. According to Dr. Oz, the metabolism in women 40 and older begins to slow down, causing bigger bellies and steady weight gain in other places too! You need to turn up the heat by increasing cardiovascular activities. Don’t make the mistake of falling for “miracle” supplements or joining an exercise program that will hurt you. We have all seen the gyms that say push until you drop, “no pain, no gain,” or you’re not working hard enough until you break something. You’ll want to be able to enjoy many activities when you retire and have the time to give your grandchildren a run for their money!

Gym Goers Can See Improvements in 6 Weeks

In as little as six weeks you can see improvements. Get that beach body you’ve always wanted; it just takes dedication, perseverance and adherence to a strict diet. Work out at least three days a week preferably with a personal trainer that has your best interest at heart. You’ll want to look good laying by the pool, on the beach or in that little black dress!

Don’t worry, gentlemen, I didn’t forget about you; concentrate on working those abs, arms and chest. Remember to work out your legs on a regular basis. You do not want to wind up looking like “Hector the bulldog” from the Looney Tunes cartoons. Your significant other will appreciate it.
