Autumn Activities in the Sunshine State

Golden Ocala Golf & Equestrian Club sits on 1,200 scenic acres and offers its members a variety of activities, including championship tennis and a fitness center.

While Sunshine State summers can get on the warm side, the fall brings out the best in outdoor living. We present some sweet autumn activities in Florida. Ocala in particular hosts several fall festivals and activities, such as a haunted house and corn maze to explore.

Plenty to do

Members of Golden Ocala have plenty of fun right at their door steps. Florida’s autumn is still warm enough to enjoy swimming at our resort pool. Spend a relaxing afternoon with friends at our championship golf course. For the real rough-and-ready outdoor types, Golden Ocala offers state-of-the-art equestrian facilities for a nice, scenic ride along nature trails. Our magnificent clubhouse is a great place to connect with family and friends. And tennis on our world-famous clay courts is best served on cool afternoons.

Most of all, autumn sets the stage for the holiday season.

Halloween

Children may be focused on trick or treat, but adults recognize the late October days as a time to cut loose and have serious fun. Halloween is an ancient custom with a variety of traditions around the world, but celebrations in America are unique to a host of family-center activities including shopping, decorating, carving jack-o-lanterns and picking out costumes. While the kids are asking for candy, adults can gather for a fun costume party at one of Golden Ocala’s event facilities.

Thanksgiving

Thanksgiving is truly emblematic of American traditions. Originating with the Pilgrims and the first harvest, it didn’t become an official holiday until President Abraham Lincoln made it official in 1863.

Thanksgiving has become an institution for family and friends to celebrate with feasts and expressions of gratitude. While Thanksgiving preparations can become something of a chore with so much so cooking and cleaning, you should mark your calendar for a scrumptious visit at one of Golden Ocala’s fine dining options, including our Thanksgiving dinner for members.

No matter your favorite autumn activities in Florida or how you’ve planned your holidays, Golden Ocala offers several exclusive club memberships with special benefits.
