Spring is a time for new beginnings – what better time to get married to the one you love and start your new life together? From bright colored orchids to sweet smelling lilies, spring brides have the option to use a variety of seasonal flowers for their wedding. Here’s a few of our favorite spring blooms to give you a little wedding inspiration.

1. Affordable: Baby’s Breath

Who knew this infamous “filler” flower could look just as fab bundled alone, rather than stuffed in the spaces between other flowers? Baby’s breaths are the perfect bloom for a shabby-chic, barn or simple outdoor wedding. The best part about this bloom is that it’s affordable. Brides can purchase 100 stems of baby’s breath for a measly $79.99 from wholesalers like Costco—less than $1 stem! Using them for aisle décor, centerpieces or bridesmaids’ bouquets is a great way to save on your budget. When used as bouquets, they bundle into a globe-like shape. For simple, yet sweet, centerpieces, set them in ribbon-wrapped mason jars or tall, slim-necked vases.

2. Sophisticated: Calla Lily

This sleek and sophisticated flower is used for all types of weddings including traditional, contemporary, casual, indoor and outdoor. The calla lily can be bundled alone for a classic bouquet design or perfectly paired with other bridal blooms, such as “stargazer” lilies or roses. Edible, replicated calla lilies are also popularly used as floral décor atop wedding cakes. As centerpieces, the calla lily’s thick, tubular stem stands perfectly tall inside of any size vase, or can be made modern by submerging 1-5 stems into a full crystal clear, cylinder-shaped water vase. This bloom is perfect for a pop of color to your bouquet, boutonnieres or centerpieces, and can be purchased from wholesalers at around $1 a stem.

4. Romantic: Orchid

This elegant and exotic flower symbolizes love, thoughtfulness, beauty and wisdom.  The orchid’s flimsy structure makes for a romantic-looking bouquet of overflowing petals. For elegantly unique centerpieces, try placing 1-2 stems of orchids underwater inside of a tall vase and accompany with a  floating candle. The orchid is also edible and can be used to decorate plated food or wedding cakes. These beautiful blooms will keep your event smelling sweet throughout the entire ceremony and reception. Oriental lilies are magnificently scented with large, open flowers averaging 6-to-8 inches in diameter when fully bloomed. Though this trumpet-shaped flower costs more than the other blooms on the list, it is larger, which means you won’t need to purchase as many stems. Oriental lilies are a great choice for centerpieces or bouquets, but their large size makes them unsuitable for boutonnieres. This bloom can be purchased from wholesalers in shades of white, pink and yellow at around $2.50 per stem.
