Ocala, FL, August 21, 2008: Golden Ocala Golf & Equestrian Club, a private club in Ocala,
Florida is pleased to announce the addition of Executive Chef Matthew Colangelo to the Club’s
culinary team. Most recently from the Westin Diplomat Resort & Spa in Hollywood, Florida, Chef
Colangelo received his culinary inspiration at an early age having grown up in a large Italian
family, and spending many hours in the kitchen surrounded by authentic cooks with a passion for
creating fine food. He received his formal training at the world-renowned Culinary Institute of
America and honed his skills by cooking in many fine restaurants and five star hotels. After
cooking for over 20 years he has developed a reputation as a world class Chef. His expertise
incorporates all types of cuisines to which he brings a modern, contemporary flare using the latest
innovative techniques. Keeping Chef grounded is his family: Dana, his wife of 8 years, and his
two sons, Ty and Zac.
