Ocala, FL - July 22, 2008 - Golden Ocala's Golf and Equestrian Club wi;l be featured on the Gold Channel's upcoming reality series, "Highway 18", scheduled to premier on July 22, 2008. This new series follows five two-person teams as they compete their way across the Sunshine Stage, completing golf-related challenges in a variety of settings ranging from municipal facilities to famous championship venues. Perna, Executive Vice President and Project Director for Golden Ocala Golf and Equestrian Club. Throughout the series of shows, contestants will make a stop at Golden Ocala's picturesque 18-hole, Ron Garl-designed course. The teams will compete in rigorous challenges, demanding cooperation and initiative in order to survive elimination. Golden Ocala's masterfully-designed course features either tribute holes, showcasing some of the world's finest golf courses including Augusta, Royal Troon, Muirfield, Baltusrol and St. Andrews.

"Highway 18" began filming April 2, 2008 with the teams receiving their first clues at the Castillo de San Marcos in St. Augustine, leading them to the golf Hall or Fame where they were surprised by a visit from Arnold Palmer. This 10-part series will begin airing weekly beginning July 22, 2008. "Highway 18 will be so much more than 18 holes of golf," said Golf Channel executive producer Jay Kossoff in a statement. "The paces we'll put the contestants through and the emotional and physical journeys they will experience will captivate viewers."
