2014 Fall Wedding Trends

Written by Julianne Cuomo, Director of Celebrations.

Summer used to be the most popular time of the year to have a wedding. Now, wedding season seems to be shifting more towards the fall season. September and October are becoming two of the most popular months to get married. With the fall season approaching quickly, I will share with you some of the most popular 2014 fall wedding trends.

The Theme

A vintage wedding theme is what you will see trending this fall.  Brides are wanting a more natural yet chic feel for their weddings this season.  Though vintage is the overall theme, there are many different spins a bride can put on her vintage wedding to make it her own. From vintage vogue to rustic outdoors to stylish romance, the personal details are what make a brides vintage wedding unique.

The Colors

The color scheme for the vintage feel this fall is a simple nude color pallet focusing on one bold color. Pale pinks are perfect for a romantic vintage wedding. You can also go for a the natural pallet with a focus on deep red for a vintage Hollywood feel. Cobalt blue is also a popular color to watch for. Pairing this blue with earth tones makes for beautiful rustic wedding decor. Choosing a bold color and surrounding it with a nude pallet can give your wedding the perfect combination of chic style and natural beauty.

The Dress

To go along with the natural color scheme seen above, you will see nude under tones incorporated with lace on wedding dresses this fall. This popular look can be seen on a wedding dress as a skin tone underlay with lace overlay to give the dress a sheer and elegant appearance. This combination provides the bride with a romantic and soft style, perfect for a vintage themed wedding.

The Hair

The hair trend for fall has the same pattern seen above, all natural. This fall’s hair trend brings us loose waves and braids to give the bride a romantic unfinished hairstyle. This is the perfect complement to finish off the vintage theme and natural color scheme.
