Trending Spa and Salon Services

Written by Barbara Whatley, Spa & Fitness Director.

Keeping up with “What’s New”

Staying on top of new service offerings in spas and salons is like staying fashion forward with my wardrobe! My shopping excursion to find new spa and salon services takes me out west, where I can learn what’s trending and bring these services to Golden Ocala.

Warm Stone Massage

In 1999, I was the Spa Director at Hyatt Regency Pier 66, located in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. I had the opportunity to take a trip to Arizona, where I had my first Hot Rock Massage experience. This was something that I just knew I needed to bring to Florida! After three visits to my general manager’s office, I finally convinced him that we needed to make the investment and train the staff to massage with rocks. I am proud to say that Hyatt Regency Pier 66 was the first spa in Ft. Lauderdale to offer Hot Rock Massage therapy.

Taking this service to the next level, I have created Warm Stone Massage, which is very similar to Hot Rock Massage, except that I’ve tweaked the treatment application. The type of stones that I like the best are “real” basalt stones, which are used more to massage and less for stone placement. Warm Stone Massage is a new service offering coming to Golden Ocala Golf & Equestrian Club this winter. I invite our members to try this new service and see how relaxing it really is.

L’Oreal Fiberceutic Hair Treatment

In our salon, the new service we now offer is the L’Oreal Fiberceutic hair treatment, which comes highly recommended and is often referred to as “Botox for hair”. The treatment essentially deposits a patented molecule (L’Oreal calls it Intra-Cylane) into your hair, which then attaches itself to your hair’s damaged Keratin (the protein your hair retains) to help seal and repair breakages.

This salon treatment combined with the at-home replenishing masque can help rejuvenate damaged weak hair, leaving it feeling stronger and more full of life, hence the nickname “Botox for hair.”

Melodie Garcia, one of our hairdressers at Golden Ocala, recommends this treatment in a series of 5 treatments, once a week for 5 weeks. She says, “the treatment is amazing and I have seen many people who have tried to grow their hair out and because of breakage and damage, it was not possible. However, after a series of these treatments, there was less breakage and the texture was greatly improved. Long hair was once again achievable.”

Client Recommendation

Michelle H: “The biggest thing I noticed about this treatment is that it left my hair soft and smooth, while retaining its fullness. A lot of times, I find that after a deep conditioning-type treatment, my hair feels really silky, but it’s hard to get any volume or curls to hold. This Fiberceutic treatment has the best of both worlds.”

I am excited to learn and share the new trending spa and salon services with our members. Call (352) 402-4350 to schedule your appointment for a Warm Stone Massage or the L’Oreal Fiberceutic hair treatment today!
